Thanksgiving Delivers a Bounty of Skin Care Options

Thanksgiving Delivers a Bounty of Skin Care Options

Fall harvest is such a bountiful time of year. And many of the ingredients traditionally found on the Thanksgiving table – cranberries, pomegranates, apples, pumpkin, grapes and herbs – deliver a wealth of nutrients to the body. Those same ingredients that give so much to the body also do so for the skin.

Of course these ingredients are only as healthy as the recipes they are used in – they can be antioxidant powerhouses or become devoid of any nutritional value. Skin care formulations are no different. Ingredient combinations and levels, quality, and the science of Chirality all play significant roles in the effectiveness of these fall staples.

Thanksgiving Table to Treatment Room

Many of the fruits of fall boast extremely high antioxidant counts. Take the pomegranate for instance, it is said to have three times the antioxidant power of red wine and green tea! When combined with ingredients like Tocopherol or Resveratrol in cosmeceutical formulations, it becomes even more powerful. The antioxidant count skyrockets, and it becomes an accomplice in fighting free radicals and stimulating cellular proliferation.

Pumpkin, which contains a wide spectrum of vitamin A derivatives, when combined with D-Alpha Tocopherol (the chiral form of Vitamin E) becomes not only an age-reversal formula, but also a free-radical scavenger with moisturizing and preservation properties.

There are several ingredient combinations that become powerhouse formulas when the science of Chirality is applied. At Rhonda Allison, we have a several fall favorites and formulations we are most thankful for:

This season give thanks to your clients by indulging their skin in some of the ingredients of fall. Be sure to educate them on the importance of reading ingredient lists – what to look for and what to stay away from, and how levels, quality of ingredients, and the science of Chirality make a major difference.
