Ask any man what his top daily annoyances are, and shaving will undoubtedly be near the top of the list. It’s not so much the process or time it takes, but the sheer discomfort it often causes. Many men battle with razor burn, dry, sensitive skin, and ingrown hairs on a regular basis.
Still a vast majority of men shave every day out of necessity, and some estimates have shown a man will shave at least 20,000 times in his lifetime. That is a lot of potential for shaving issues and discomfort.
REDMethod recognized this and created the ideal balance for men; by simply changing the products used before, during and after the discomforts associated with shaving will be eliminated. Cleansing before shaving (Blue Agave for men cleanses deeply and softens beard), switching to a shave gel rather than soap or foam, and following with Stone Power or ReZone will help reduce razor burn, breakouts and ingrown hairs. Applying a soothing antioxidant healing moisturizer (EnviroProtect) will keep skin protected throughout the day.
Double Duty
We recently rolled out the Shaving Gel , which uses hydrothermal power to cool and sooth the skin. We developed a glycerin-based gel rather than foam or soap, because it retains more moisture in the skin, softens the beard, and allows the razor to glide more smoothly. It reduces tugging of the hair, and over shaving and drying.
This formula pulls double duty as a refreshing and nurturing weekly mask as well. As part of a rejuvenating regimen, begin with the Blue Agave in the shower. The steam from the shower will expand pores and soften the skin. After the shower, apply the shaving gel to the entire face and let it work for about 10 minutes. Prior to shaving, add another thin layer to the area to be shaved. Following the shave, rinse with warm water and a damp cloth. The skin will feel cool, soft and refreshed. Follow with a toner like Rezone or Stone Power, and Power Antioxidant a skin strengthening serum or EnviroProtect daily moisturizer.
Tips:
- Shave regularly – longer hairs can be tougher and create more tugging
- Cleanse skin before to remove oil and debris
- Wet Shave. Use hot water from the shower or sink before shaving to soften skin and expand pores
- Use non-alcohol based shave gel, smoothing onto the skin with a badger hair brush
- Avoid using dull razors. Invest in a good reusable razor
- Follow with a toner like ReZone to prevent irritations, ingrown hairs, and razor bumps
