With a blend of TCA and salicylic acid, TCA/Salicylic Acid may be the ideal choice for a skin that is sensitive to AHAs and is the perfect formula to accommodate skins that are unable to use resorcinol. The additional boost of TCA with salicylic acid gives the formula more exfoliating and rejuvenating power and is used in a similar application, supporting the brightening of uneven skin tone and providing beneficial support for acneic skin. May be used on all skin types, but the number of layers used change according to Fitzpatrick. Salicylic Solution is an exfoliating antiseptic and antibacterial that diminishes fine lines, smoothes coarse texture, refines skin tissue and stimulates new cell growth.

Cleanse skin appropriately with All-Purpose Cleansing Pads, Pumpkin Cleanser, or Rosemary Herbal Cleanser. Rinse skin thoroughly after cleansing with warm water and gauze sponge. A second-phase cleanse may be appropriate depending on skin type. Use a buffing grain or a stripping sebum reducer such as Fruit Acid Botanical Lotion.PEEL APPLICATION-When the skin is completely free of oils and surface residue, begin application of TCA/Salicylic Acid solution. Pour a small amount in a glass beaker, cover client’s eyes with cotton pads and give client a hand-held fan. Saturate 2” gauze with TCA/Salicylic Acid and begin applying to skin using firm, even pressure. Distribute acid evenly so that every pore is saturated. Wait two (2) minutes for solution to absorb. If there is no sign of frosting or irritation, apply a second layer in the opposite direction.NOTE-Do not apply more than three (3) layers; there will be light exfoliation that will take place over the next seven (7) days.
